Food and Nutrition
The program focuses on improving food and nutrition security
in Malawi, particularly in Nsanje district and T/A Mbenje. Our goal is to support the SDG 2, which
aims to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030, by promoting sustainable agriculture,
supporting small-scale farmers, and ensuring equal access to land, technology, and markets.
We recognize that the district is prone to frequent disasters such as floods and droughts, which can
lead to food and nutrition insecurity. To address this, our organization promotes the use of modern
technology to boost crop yields and resilience. We also encourage the keeping and raring of poultry
and small domestic animals like ducks and chickens as an adaptation strategy to food and nutrition
insecurity.
Our efforts align with Malawi's long-term vision of Malawi 2063, which emphasizes the importance of
food and nutrition security for sustainable development. By supporting small-scale farmers and
promoting sustainable agriculture, we strive to ensure that all people, especially children, have
access to sufficient and nutritious food all year round.

Disaster risk Management
FACE focuses on Disaster Risk Management, particularly in Nsanje District, Malawi. The district is prone to natural disasters such as floods, dry spells, strong winds, and disease outbreaks. We work closely with the Assistant District Disaster Risk Management Officer and other structures to coordinate disaster risk management efforts. Our initiatives include afforestation programs like river banks and bare grounds rehabilitation with forest cover, promotion of joint management of reserves between local communities and government staff, and capacity building in natural resources management. We also promote beekeeping and efficient fuelwood consumption stoves to conserve indigenous trees and reduce pressure on reserves. Our goal is to support sustainable development and environmental sustainability in Malawi.
